TAKAMINE

Takamine Gakki Co., Ltd. was founded in 1959 in Sakashita, Japan, initially as a small luthier's workshop. In 1962, the company changed its name to Takamine Gakki, referring to the nearby Takamine Mountain. In 1979, Takamine introduced its first electro-acoustic model, the PT-007S, equipped with the innovative Palathetic pickup system, which allowed the acoustic guitars to be widely used on large concert stages. In the 1980s, the company introduced preamps with parametric equalization and DSP systems, allowing guitarists to fine-tune their sound. Takamine has worked with many well-known artists, such as Glenn Frey of the Eagles, who used a 12-string EF400S guitar to record the distinctive intro to the song "Hotel California." Thanks to technological innovations and high quality workmanship, Takamine has become one of the world's leading acoustic guitar manufacturers.
