Karim "Karimski" Martusewicz is one of the most versatile Polish double bassists and bass guitarists, composers, and music producers. He was born on November 27, 1972, in Tripoli, Libya, and received his musical education at the renowned Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz, in the jazz double bass class led by Prof. Wayne Darling. From the early years of his career, he showed an interest in both classical and jazz music as well as improvisation, which was later reflected in his diverse artistic projects. In 1998, he joined the legendary Polish band Voo Voo, with whom he continues to perform and record to this day. Prior to that, he co-founded the band Woobie Doobie and performed in the musical Metro as a bassist.

As the leader and originator of projects such as Karimski Club and Karimski Orchestra, Martusewicz combined various musical genres—from jazz, funk, and R&B to electronic and world music. His Karimski Orchestra collaborated with many well-known artists, including Zbigniew Hołdys, Wojciech Waglewski, and Maria Peszek, and in 2024, it began a series of concerts dedicated to the album ICHING, for which Karim served as arranger and music producer. His work is both eclectic in terms of composition and strongly rooted in Polish musical tradition, which is also evident in the albums recorded under the Karimski Club label.

Martusewicz also stands out as a music producer and collaborator with many leading Polish artists. He has worked with musicians such as Kasia Kowalska, Justyna Steczkowska, Natalia Przybysz, Monika Kuszyńska, Zbigniew Wodecki, Tomasz Organek, Grzegorz Markowski, Fisz, and Abradab. In addition, he has served as music director and arranger for numerous television projects and special concerts, including the "Przystanek Woodstock - Jubilee Concert," the Papal Concert, and TVP Kultura galas. His experience also includes music for films, TV series, and theater performances, confirming his versatility and importance in the Polish music scene.

Karim Martusewicz is also a highly regarded educator and initiator of activities for young musicians. In 2024, he established theKarimski Foundationfor Culture and Education, which aims to support music and cultural education for young people. Together with the band Voo Voo, he received the Fryderyk Award (2015) and the Mateusz Trójka Award (2017), and his achievements include numerous original compositions as well as session arrangements for other performers. Karim Martusewicz combines concert, studio, and educational activities in his work, becoming one of the most influential contemporary Polish musicians.
