ARTISTS: MIKE GOTTHARD

 

Mike Gotthard is a Hungarian guitarist and composer of the younger generation who stands out for his mature, expressive playing style and great stylistic versatility. His musical language is based on a combination of jazz improvisation, bluesy emotion, and the energy of rock, funk, and fusion. Melodiousness, narrative, and conscious shaping of sound and groove play an important role in his work.

The artist has over 20 years of stage and studio experience. He has performed at numerous concerts in Poland and abroad, participating in international projects of various stylistic nature. As a session musician and project leader, he has collaborated with many renowned artists from the world of jazz and fusion, including Mohini Dey, Gergő Borlai, Jesús Molina, Scott Kinsey, Al Di Meola, Gary Willis, and Hadrien Feraud.

Mike Gotthard is a graduate of the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he obtained a degree in jazz guitar. His academic education, combined with intensive stage practice, allowed him to develop a recognizable style and move freely between different musical aesthetics, while maintaining a consistent artistic identity.

His debut solo album, Intellectual Brutality, released in 2016, attracted considerable interest and was recorded with the participation of many renowned musicians. In 2021, he released his own single, 9 Wheels, confirming the guitarist's further artistic development. Mike Gotthard is currently considered one of the most interesting figures on the contemporary Hungarian guitar scene and actively continues his concert and project activities.
